McDonalds operates in more than 100 countries through its 30,000 fast food restaurants and had group revenue of $23.5b for 2008, up from $22.7b in 2007. McDonalds serves 52 million people each day and without doubt it is one of the world’s most well-known and valuable brands.
But what has contributed to the immense brand value? What successes has McDonalds had in creating such a well known brand, and what barriers has it had to overcome since its humble beginnings in 1940’s San Bernardino, California?
